For more than four decades, Dr. Manju Awasthi devoted herself to education—as a teacher, academic leader, principal and scholar.But education, for her, was never limited to the classroom.Throughout her life, she remained deeply sensitive to students who wished to study but struggled because of poverty, difficult family circumstances or a lack of opportunity.Whenever she could help, she did.
चार दशकों से अधिक समय तक डॉ. मंजू अवस्थी ने स्वयं को शिक्षा के लिए समर्पित रखा—एक शिक्षिका, अकादमिक नेतृत्वकर्ता, प्राचार्य और शोधार्थी के रूप में।लेकिन उनके लिए शिक्षा कभी केवल कक्षा तक सीमित नहीं रही।अपने पूरे जीवन में वे उन विद्यार्थियों के प्रति विशेष रूप से संवेदनशील रहीं, जो पढ़ना चाहते थे, लेकिन आर्थिक कठिनाइयों, पारिवारिक परिस्थितियों या अवसरों की कमी के कारण संघर्ष कर रहे थे।जहाँ भी वे सहायता कर सकती थीं, उन्होंने की।

शिक्षा से घिरा बचपन
Born into a scholarly Mishra family in Banaras, Dr. Manju Awasthi grew up in an environment where education was deeply valued.Her father was a Professor of Chemistry and had specialised in glass technology, including academic work that took him abroad during an era when such opportunities were uncommon.
बनारस के एक शिक्षित मिश्र परिवार में जन्मी डॉ. मंजू अवस्थी का बचपन ऐसे वातावरण में बीता जहाँ शिक्षा को अत्यंत महत्व दिया जाता था।उनके पिता रसायन शास्त्र के प्रोफेसर थे तथा ग्लास टेक्नोलॉजी में विशेषज्ञता रखते थे। उस समय शैक्षणिक अध्ययन के लिए विदेश यात्राएँ भी उनके जीवन का हिस्सा रहीं।

When she was around sixteen and studying in Class 10, her father suffered a severe heart attack and passed away.A family of two sons, four daughters and their mother suddenly faced a very different reality.The family had to leave their government accommodation at BHU and move to Hoshangabad to stay with relatives.
जब वे लगभग सोलह वर्ष की थीं और कक्षा 10 में अध्ययन कर रही थीं, तब उनके पिता को गंभीर हृदयाघात हुआ और उनका निधन हो गया।दो पुत्रों, चार पुत्रियों और उनकी माँ वाले परिवार के सामने अचानक परिस्थितियों का एक नया और कठिन अध्याय खड़ा हो गया।परिवार को बनारस हिंदू विश्वविद्यालय के सरकारी आवास को छोड़कर रिश्तेदारों के पास होशंगाबाद जाना पड़ा।
BUT HER EDUCATION DID NOT STOP.

कभी-कभी एक व्यक्ति किसी जीवन की दिशा बदल देता है।
At a crucial point in her life, her fufaji, Shri Bishamber Nath Pandey, helped her continue her education.A freedom fighter and a person who believed deeply in the value of education, his support helped keep her educational journey alive during difficult circumstances.That support became part of a larger story—a story in which a young student would eventually become an educator who herself opened doors for others.
जीवन के उस महत्वपूर्ण मोड़ पर उनके फूफाजी, श्री बिशम्बर नाथ पाण्डेय ने उनकी शिक्षा को आगे बढ़ाने में महत्वपूर्ण सहयोग दिया।स्वतंत्रता सेनानी और शिक्षा के महत्व में विश्वास रखने वाले श्री पाण्डेय का सहयोग उस कठिन समय में उनकी शिक्षा की यात्रा को आगे बढ़ाने में सहायक बना। वह सहयोग आगे चलकर एक बड़ी कहानी का हिस्सा बना—एक ऐसी कहानी, जिसमें एक युवा छात्रा स्वयं ऐसी शिक्षाविद् बनीं जिन्होंने आगे चलकर दूसरों के लिए अवसरों के द्वार खोले।

THE BEGINNING OF HER PROFESSIONAL JOURNEY
उनकी कर्मयात्रा का आरंभ
At around the age of twenty, while preparing for her B.A. final examinations, Dr. Manju Awasthi entered a new chapter of her life with her marriage to Shri Satyendra Nath Awasthi. Yet marriage did not interrupt her pursuit of education. She continued her studies and went on to complete her M.A. in Hindi. In 1970, at the age of only about twenty-three, she began her professional journey in government service at Government P.G. College, Balaghat, as a teacher of Hindi. What began as the journey of a young educator soon grew into a remarkable life of academic leadership and public service. Through dedication, scholarship and an enduring concern for students, she went on to become the Head of the Hindi Department, then Principal of Government Girls College, Balaghat. During her tenure as Principal of Government Girls College, Balaghat, she worked toward improving the institution's infrastructure and bringing the proposed new college building into functional use.,and subsequently rose to become the Principal of Government P.G. College, Balaghat. She took charge as Principal of the college in 2007 and continued to serve there until her retirement in 2012. Over more than four decades, her journey was not simply a progression through positions—it was a lifelong commitment to education, learning and the belief that an institution can change the course of a young person’s life.
लगभग बीस वर्ष की आयु में, जब वे बी.ए. की अंतिम परीक्षा की तैयारी कर रही थीं, डॉ. मंजू अवस्थी ने अपने जीवन के एक नए अध्याय में प्रवेश किया और उनका विवाह श्री सत्येन्द्र नाथ अवस्थी से हुआ। विवाह के बाद भी उनकी शिक्षा की यात्रा रुकी नहीं। उन्होंने अपनी पढ़ाई जारी रखी और हिंदी विषय में एम.ए. की उपाधि प्राप्त की। वर्ष 1970 में, लगभग तेईस वर्ष की आयु में, उन्होंने बालाघाट के शासकीय स्नातकोत्तर महाविद्यालय से शासकीय सेवा में अपने व्यावसायिक जीवन की शुरुआत एक हिंदी शिक्षिका के रूप में की। एक युवा शिक्षिका के रूप में शुरू हुई यह यात्रा आगे चलकर अकादमिक नेतृत्व और समाजसेवा की एक उल्लेखनीय कहानी बनी। अपनी निष्ठा, विद्वता और विद्यार्थियों के प्रति निरंतर संवेदनशीलता के साथ उन्होंने हिंदी विभाग की विभागाध्यक्ष के रूप में कार्य किया, इसके बाद शासकीय कन्या महाविद्यालय, बालाघाट की प्राचार्य बनीं शासकीय कन्या महाविद्यालय, बालाघाट में प्राचार्य के रूप में अपने कार्यकाल के दौरान उन्होंने संस्थान के अधोसंरचना विकास तथा प्रस्तावित नए महाविद्यालय भवन को कार्यशील रूप देने के लिए प्रयास किए। और आगे चलकर शासकीय स्नातकोत्तर महाविद्यालय, बालाघाट की प्राचार्य के पद तक पहुँचीं। वर्ष 2007 में उन्होंने शासकीय स्नातकोत्तर महाविद्यालय, बालाघाट के प्राचार्य का दायित्व संभाला और वर्ष 2012 में वहीं से सेवानिवृत्त हुईं। चार दशकों से अधिक लंबी उनकी यह यात्रा केवल पदों की क्रमिक उपलब्धि नहीं थी—यह शिक्षा, ज्ञान और इस विश्वास के प्रति उनकी जीवनभर की प्रतिबद्धता थी कि एक शिक्षण संस्था किसी युवा के जीवन की दिशा बदल सकती है।

Dr. Manju Awasthi's journey was supported by another lifelong educator—her husband, Shri Satyendra Nath Awasthi.He began his career as a Professor of Botany at Robertson Science College, Jabalpur, and was later transferred to Jatashankar Trivedi Government P.G. College, Balaghat, where he served as Head of the Department of Botany in the late 1970s.
डॉ. मंजू अवस्थी की यात्रा के साथ जीवनभर एक और शिक्षाविद् खड़े रहे—उनके पति, श्री सत्येन्द्र नाथ अवस्थी।उन्होंने अपने कार्यजीवन की शुरुआत रॉबर्टसन साइंस कॉलेज, जबलपुर में वनस्पति शास्त्र के प्रोफेसर के रूप में की और बाद में जटाशंकर त्रिवेदी शासकीय पी.जी. कॉलेज, बालाघाट में स्थानांतरित हुए, जहाँ उन्होंने 1970 के दशक के उत्तरार्ध में वनस्पति शास्त्र विभागाध्यक्ष के रूप में कार्य किया।
A LIFE OF RESPONSIBILITY
Shri Satyendra Nath Awasthi came from a large family and carried significant responsibilities toward his younger brothers and sisters. Yet he continued his own professional journey with dignity and steadiness, serving in government education for more than four decades.He retired in 2002 as Principal of Government Girls College, Balaghat.
श्री सत्येन्द्र नाथ अवस्थी एक बड़े परिवार से आए थे और अपने छोटे भाइयों एवं बहनों के प्रति अनेक पारिवारिक जिम्मेदारियाँ निभाईं। इन जिम्मेदारियों के साथ उन्होंने अपने पेशेवर जीवन को भी निरंतर आगे बढ़ाया और चार दशकों से अधिक समय तक शासकीय शिक्षा सेवा में कार्य किया।उन्होंने 2002 में शासकीय कन्या महाविद्यालय, बालाघाट के प्राचार्य पद से सेवानिवृत्ति ली।

Their professional lives were rooted in education, but their commitment went beyond their own careers.Shri Satyendra Nath Awasthi strongly supported Dr. Manju Awasthi in building the organisation and its educational work.He became the first President of Deva Education Society.
उनका पेशेवर जीवन शिक्षा से जुड़ा था, लेकिन उनका समर्पण केवल अपने-अपने कार्यक्षेत्र तक सीमित नहीं रहा।श्री सत्येन्द्र नाथ अवस्थी ने डॉ. मंजू अवस्थी के संगठन और शैक्षणिक कार्य को आगे बढ़ाने में उनका दृढ़ सहयोग किया।वे देवा एजुकेशन सोसायटी के प्रथम अध्यक्ष बने।
EDUCATION WAS NEVER JUST A PROFESSION.
शिक्षा उनके लिए कभी केवल एक पेशा नहीं रही।
They had both experienced the responsibility of education—from inside the classroom, from the position of leadership, and from the realities of family and society.And perhaps that is why they understood the value of an opportunity.
दोनों ने शिक्षा की जिम्मेदारी को कक्षा के भीतर से, नेतृत्व की भूमिका से और परिवार एवं समाज की वास्तविकताओं के बीच से अनुभव किया था।शायद यही कारण था कि वे एक अवसर के वास्तविक मूल्य को गहराई से समझते थे।
THE SOCIETY BEGAN WITH A SENTIMENT.
इस संस्था की शुरुआत एक भावना से हुई।
Deva Education Society grew from a simple but deeply held belief:A student's circumstances should not become the limit of a student's possibilities. What began as a personal concern for students became a larger social commitment.
देवा एजुकेशन सोसायटी की जड़ें एक सरल लेकिन गहरे विश्वास में हैं:किसी विद्यार्थी की परिस्थितियाँ उसकी संभावनाओं की सीमा नहीं बननी चाहिए। विद्यार्थियों के प्रति एक व्यक्तिगत संवेदना से शुरू हुई भावना आगे चलकर एक व्यापक सामाजिक संकल्प बनी।
HER COMPASSION BECAME OUR PURPOSE.
